LIFETIME NFDA MEMBER

Brad Lange

Brad Lange was born in Perham MN in 1962, and still lives there.  He watched and learned the art of making decoys from my father Larry Lange, in his wood shop.  Brad has been making fish decoys since the year 2000, and has developed his own style.

Brad thought that making decoys didn't look that hard, he found out that its more difficult than it looks, even with a Master Carver around.  After many unsuccessful attempts, he gained the experience and knowledge to carve a working decoy.

Brad says, "Working full time at Barrel O' Fun, in the warehouse, doesn't leave much time to carve."  "I carve mainly in the evenings and weekends, and I carve mainly working decoys." Brad uses an airbrush to paint in classic and fork art style, and makes around 100 to 200 fish decoys a year.  Brad hopes to try to carve and paint some more "realistic" fish decoys this coming year.
